Join us for our second outdoor summer Concert on the Green featuring The Beacons on the green outside La Grua Center. Major support for the summer Concerts on the Green has been provided by the Stonington Village Improvement Association.
Representing the US Coast Guard Band, the Coast Guard Jazz Nonet was formed in 2020. Smaller than a traditional big band, but larger than a jazz combo, the band plays music ranging from classic big band standards, instrumental solos, and patriotic music.
Concert is free but registration is required. Click here to sign up.
Please read the information below to understand what policies will be in place for the concert.
Rain Date: If it looks like inclement weather on the day of the concert, we will make the call by noon and update our website event page, as well as send an e-mail to ticket holders. The rain date will be the next day on Saturday at 6 p.m.
Parking: Parking in Stonington Borough in the summer can be a challenge. The free lot at Stonington Commons at 32 Water Street will be available until it is full. Residents of Stonington Borough are encouraged to walk. Additional tips can be found here.
Seating: We will open for seating at 5 p.m., and you will need to check in with our volunteers at the Northeast corner of the Green. Please bring your own lawn chairs or blankets, as none will be provided.
No dogs are allowed on the Stonington Commons Green.
Food and Drink: The Stonington Harbor Yacht Club will be selling beer and wine from their portable bar, along with snacks. Please feel free to bring your own food, but not your own liquor. Trash cans will be available on the perimeter of the green for your use.
Restrooms: Restrooms are available inside La Grua Center.
Running Time: Each concert will last approximately one hour, with no intermission.
Changing Conditions: We continue to monitor state and federal guidelines and protocols may be adjusted based on state, federal, and arts sector recommendations.
