Boston’s acclaimed Canto Armonico will be presenting an exquisite Christmas program for a cappella choir, lute, and viols. They will sing touching, heartfelt German and English music for Advent and Christmas, with repertoire drawn from the Renaissance and early Baroque, and from the very soul of early modern English and German Christmas music. The stately, darkly joyous sound of viols – a pair of violas da gamba – and a lute will enrich festive works in this 70-minute concert.
A luminous antidote to the Dark of the Year!
