Duo String Lab's brilliantly colorful program is all from the 20th century. Lest that put you off, we can't imagine a more lyrical, rhythmically engaging, and heartfelt offering of "modern" music. Bartók's incisive Romanian Dances, Reynaldo Hahn's haunting songs, Villa-Lobos' soaring Aria, and Astor Piazzola's evocation of the growth of tango are gems, pure and simple. Jacques Lee Wood and Simon Powis are celebrated soloists. In their duo mode, they work miracles with the cantabile persona of the cello and the intricate warmth of the classical guitar. Irresistible.

Won't you join us for this tuneful, evocative Saturday afternoon in May?
