Improve your strength, balance and flexibility in preparation for the multitude of activities and hobbies you enjoy.  Get ready to do all the things you love: walk, hike, garden, bike, travel, bird watch, golf or just be outdoors to bask in the sunshine.  After a long winter of being indoors and chilly spring, it is time to wake up, loosen up and energize.

Strength training will improve your ability to climb stairs, bend, lift, carry light packages and maintain your balance with greater ease and agility.  Increased muscle strength also protects joints by reducing the load on hips, knees and shoulders and preventing injury.  

Stretching increases flexibility, improves range of motion, promotes better posture, relieves stress and improves circulation.

Exercise and stretching are also highly effective in reducing arthritis pain!

Join me for this easy and fun class combining strength training and stretching to ensure your continued independence and well-being.  Get ready now and benefit for months and even years to come. 

Julie White-Gooding is a post-retirement lifestyle specialist.  She and her husband, Antonio Gooding, operate Healthy Futures: Independent Today and Tomorrow, providing non-medical services to help older adults maintain their lifestyle and independence.  Julie has served as a personal trainer to a number of Borough residents since 2009.  Her classes at The LaGrua Center have been well received.
