Drop-in Gentle Yoga Class
Thursdays 9:00-10:30 AM
Beginners of all ages and those seeking a conservative approach to learning
fundamental yoga postures are invited to practice building strength,
stability and mobility from the core, increasing stamina and flexibility in
the joints and expanding breath capacity while cultivating inner awareness.
Please bring a yoga mat; other props will be provided.
Alice Despard is a certified yoga instructor
(RYT-200) and a practitioner of hatha yoga for 17
years with a firm background in the B.K.S.
Iyengar tradition of asana (posture) practice with
its emphasis on precision, alignment and detail
to increase awareness, serenity and health. Alice
is a new resident of Stonington having relocated
from Washington, D.C. where she taught yoga
classes for seven years. She believes that
”beginner’s mind” is a quality to be cultivated
always in one’s yoga practice.
