Located next to Stonington harbor in the historic foundry of the Atwood Machine Company, the Center is a gracious and beautiful venue for the arts, education, meetings, social occasions and other community activities. The mission of the La Grua Center is to provide a public space for the Stonington community and visitors to come together.

The Center seats 125 people theatre style in the Great Room, and 175 people standing. Mezzanine accommodates an additional 49 people seated theater style or 28 seated with tables. This stone building with its tall deep-set windows and wooden beams is warm and inviting. Renovations include A/V equipment for films, concerts, and presentations, heating and air-conditioning, handicap accessible bathrooms and coat storage. Folding tables and chairs are also available.

Rules & Details:

  • Any event other than a private event shall be open to the public.
  • All events must follow rules of the LGC and the Stonington Commons Community.
  • Applications for events must be submitted at least 3-4 weeks prior to event.
