J.S. Bach Suite No. 3 in C for solo cello
In her Music Matters début, cellist Anita Græf will delve deeply into the concern of composers of our time to confer relevance and understanding on the complexities and challenges of now. She’ll explore the special fabrics of the Black, Asian, Hispanophone, African, and some surprising other cultural hemispheres, then cap it all off with the most majestic of Bach’s towering cello suites. Her solo violoncello, our resonant performance platform, and La Grua’s rich acoustic will come together in powerful sonics and spirituality. Truly, the sound of Hemispheres Colliding.
Anita Graef’s solo recital lasts just over an hour, with no intermission.
