This is a FREE event, but we suggest a $5 donation to support our local artists and educational programs.

Summer Youth Art Workshops
Our Summer Youth Art Workshops have taken place on several Sunday mornings in July since our early days. Begun by a local artist, the late Juan O’Callahan, these sessions are designed for young people to interact with a volunteer corps of local working artists in a relaxed and unstructured environment where they can experiment and explore.
Projects in painting, still life, watercolor, drawing, clay sculpture, printmaking, and craft design and construction are just some of the activities offered. We recently have partnered with the Yellow Farmhouse Education Center on herbal crafts.
Fall Youth Art Workshop
Another annual workshop we present is a variety of fall-themed art activities for families for Halloween and Dia de los Muertos in partnership with Expressiones Cultural Center, the Hispanic Alliance of Southeastern Connecticut, and Public Art for Racial Justice Education (PARJE).
Holiday Youth Art Workshop
Each December on a Sunday morning, for our Holiday Youth Art Workshop, we partner with the Stonington Garden Club to use greens as a key component of ornaments, centerpieces, cards, and decorations for kids to make and take home to their families.
Starting in 2021 during the pandemic, we began an annual Earth Day Youth Art Workshop, partnering with the Stonington Garden Club and students at Stonington High School to demonstrate sustainable projects via video. You can access some of those projects on our YouTube channel.
