Art Exhibitions

From our inception, we knew we wanted to use our wall space to present the works of myriad artists in every possible medium. Each year we highlight the many artists in our town by presenting the Annual Stonington Artists Exhibit, and for many years we have celebrated Art in Autism during Autism Awareness Month in April.

La Grua Center has shown acrylic, oil, Chinese ink, and watercolor paintings, charcoal drawings, mixed paper collage, sculpture, fabric art, photographs, tapestries, the list goes on.

We have hosted solo and group shows and are pleased to show the work of a wide array of artists of all ages and talent levels.

Look for our annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair each November that highlights regional artisans.

Special past exhibitions have included:

  • Pawcatuck Remembers exhibition in partnership with Stonington Middle School about the 80-year history of the school located at 40 Field Street, most recently the Pawcatuck Middle School.
  • WWI War Letters: Southeastern CT exhibition in partnership with Stonington Historical Society with New York Times best-selling author Andrew Carroll with My Fellow Soldiers on stories from WWI.
  • Beauty In Diversity photography exhibition by Kelley Norcia reflecting the diverse families of students attending New London’s Regional Multicultural Magnet School.
