In the Community

We continue to value and build upon our important relationships with our closest nonprofit cultural neighbors—the Stonington Free Library, the Stonington Historical Society, James Merrill House, and the Stonington Garden Club, which all regularly use our space for their public programming. We are active members of Stonington Nonprofits, the Stonington Business Merchants Association, the Cultural Coalition, and the CT Arts Alliance, as well as three area chambers of commerce—Greater Mystic, Ocean Community, and Eastern Connecticut. And we are an annual site for the Mystic Film Festival and proud annual participants in the annual Stonington 4th of July Parade!

Recent special projects with additional partners in the region include:

 

  • Stories of Resilience: Encountering Racism exhibition in partnership with the Jewish Federation of Eastern Connecticut and four prominent Black leaders in New London County
  • Pawcatuck Remembers exhibition in partnership with the Stonington Middle School about the 80-year history of the school located at 40 Field Street, most recently the Pawcatuck Middle School
  • WWI War Letters: Southeastern CT exhibition in partnership with the Stonington Historical Society with New York Times best-selling author Andrew Carroll and his book My Fellow Soldiers on stories from WWI during the 100th anniversary of America’s involvement
