Join us for an unforgettable evening of music as we kick off our 2023 Concert on the Green series! Featuring the expressive and hauntingly beautiful music of Portuguese Fado, performed by the incomparable Sonia Bettencourt, this event is sure to be a highlight of the month.
Experience the rich cultural heritage of Fado, with its roots in the seafaring traditions of Portugal and the deep emotions of longing and nostalgia that have made it a beloved genre around the world. Best of all, this concert is completely free! So, gather your friends and family, pack a picnic, and join us on the Stonington Commons Green for an evening of music and community.

Please read the information below to understand what policies will be in place for the concert.
Cancellations: If it looks like inclement weather on the day of the concert, we will make the call by noon and update our website event page accordingly.
Parking: The North Lot at Stonington Commons at 32 Water Street will be available until it is full. Parking in Stonington Borough in the summer can be a challenge. Residents of Stonington Borough are encouraged to walk. Additional tips can be found here.
Seating: We will open for seating at 5 p.m. Please bring your own lawn chairs or blankets, as none will be provided.
No dogs are allowed on the Stonington Commons Green.
Food and Drink: Please feel free to bring your own food, but not your own liquor. Trash cans will be available on the perimeter of the green for your use. Stonington Harbor Yacht Club will be providing a wine bar.
Restrooms: Restrooms are available inside La Grua Center.
Running Time: Each concert will last approximately one hour, with no intermission.
