New, Used, & Unfriendly are works of art that take a closer look at the state of America in the year 2020. The paintings comment on politics, advanced technology, wealth, narcissism, addiction, the pandemic, and other social issues. It aims to challenge the concept of what it means to be “user-friendly,” and if it is actually good for us.
Artist Roshane Stephenson is a Jamaican born, American raised contemporary artist based in Hartford, CT. His choice of medium are acrylic and acrylic gouache paints. He considers his style to be abstract impressionist. He enjoys painting landscapes, still life, and portraits of mostly African Americans and Afro-Caribbeans.
