Music of Two Great Ports: La Habana & Buenos Aires
Original, improvised, and traditional music rooted in the traditions of two great cultures

No Music Matters performer has so magnificently stormed and conquered the hearts of our audience as Afro-Cuban pianist-composer ZGZ – Zahili González Zamora. Her lithe, magisterial presence in the very midst of a bursting-full audience seized our attention and won our undying affection. No exaggeration! For her return, then, why not double the sorcery by contrasting the music of her native La Habana with the equally sultry, vastly different, tunes and fluid meter of the Porteños, those madly musical citizens of Buenos Aires? Jazz guitarist Claudio Ragazzi and colleague ZGZ center all of their music making around their distinctive improvisational styles and compositions, drawing on the polychrome, rich traditions of their native lands. A sizzling evocation of the music of two great port cities – not to be missed! Getting your online tix early may not be a bad idea…

Both musicians have long, appealing discographies. Several of their albums will be on sale after their concert.

Once more, the big Chickering concert grand will stand, without its lid, in the middle of the hall. This turns all seats into fantastic seats!
