Peregrine Road first delighted our Stonington audience just two years ago. They stir underplayed (or outrageous) humor into a haunting songfulness no other North American folk duo can match. Their unrivaled gift for combining subtle yet powerful rhythm with sheer, sweeping lyricism left us utterly astonished. This, the duo’s first Music Matters return, reacquaints us with their superb mastery of the Celtic, French, and English Country Dance heritages. Rachel’s own compositions stem directly from these old traditions. Her appealing tunes and fey harmonies seamlessly continue this precious legacy into our time, a vanishingly rare talent.
